MultiBel

Multibel is a Den Bosch-based company that provides an advanced alarm system for healthcare institutions, hospitals, councils, offices and educational institutions. Account manager Jens Beerkens explains it as follows: “What we provide is a calling system for calamities. It started out in hospitals. We then built an app to go along with it, with which organisations can easily and quickly alarm users in case of any calamities. With our system, organisations can alarm, inform and communicate all at once.”

Reaching the media with the help of Continews

Multibel started working with Continews halfway through 2021, when the company realised it was time to start working with a PR-agency: “Prior to that we tried to do PR ourselves. But it just wasn’t happening. We just didn’t know how to get through to the press and we just couldn’t get any mentions in the media. Ever since we started working with Continews this is all going very well. And plenty of items are being published about us.”

Always in the lead

Jens is also content with Continews because Multibel has a very good working relationship with their account manager: “Working with him is very pleasant. We often plan brainstorm meetings. Every time we have a new topic, I provide the information. He then prepares an item, after which this is sent off to the whole media list. Our account manager at Continews always takes the initiative, he is always in the lead.”

Strategy depending on the item

With each item there’s a discussion beforehand on how to present it effectively: “It depends on the type of article which media we should be approaching; sometimes we have news that is more technology-focused, and other times we have news that is more healthcare-focused. With each individual item we decide how we want to approach it.”

A media reach of over a million

When asked for an item that did very well, Jens has an example straight away: “In October we were the first company in the Netherlands that offered a wireless cloud-based evacuation system. This news did very well, the total media reach was more than a million. When comparing our monthly overviews in our own section of the Continews-website we really saw a big spike that month. We have also had more technology-focused items that may not have had such a big total reach, but that did get picked up by ten different technical trade media. That’s important as well of course.” Thanks to the collaboration with Continews, Multibel is now doing very well with their PR, in quantity and in quality.

When it comes to Multibel’s future PR-ambitions, Jens has the following to say: “Right now we mainly want to reach trade media, but we do have the ambition to try and reach nationwide media in the near future.” Obviously Continews would love to make that happen.
